Who here has any of the Luxman integrated amplifier variants? All are absolutely gorgeous with the VU meters. Unfortunately they also cost major bucks. So basic question for anyone who's bought one, do you feel it was worth it in hindsight? Thanks!

They are nice looking, pretty nice sounding too from what I read, but no personal experience other than bidding on a couple auctions that I lost. Nice 505u on audiogon today for around $2000, probably won't last too long ...

I have the 509x. Would repeat. I got it gently used and saved a few grand.

I have the 590axII and love it. I also bought secondary and saved a couple g’s
Right now Ted Hawkins sounds like he’s in the room. Very organic with the right source. Better have good stuff ahead of it.

Roughly 10K, but I'm sure you could get a deal :)

    :)

Hehehe, there's a nice 509u on hifi-do right now for $3290. Also one of the new Luxman turntables for under $2000 as well, might as well go full in ...

Well, I am a fan myself. I own a Luxman CD player, a Luxman line selector, a Luxman speaker selector and three Luxman amplifiers! All recent stuff.

You can’t go wrong with Luxman!

Used 509x’s can go for just under $7K from what I’ve seen.

And that is what is known as turntable porn. And definitely the hardcore variety.

I own a Luxman L-215 integrated that I bought for $80 on eBay, a gamble on an untested by seller listing that payed off. Sounds great. I also have their K 105 cassette deck. Just some examples from the less expensive end of the spectrum.

I’ve got the 509x paired with Harbeth Shl5+ speakers. Sounds great (I’m still working on the room though) and looks simply stunning. I absolutely smashed my budget to get this amp, but in the same circumstances, I’d buy it again.
The only thing I’ve been a bit disappointed with is the headphone section, sounds a bit flat to me, but I had a tube based headphone amp before.

It is just my opinion with Totem model '1' which is hard drive used the Luxman 505ux(owned for 1 year and traded) and I felt it is too soft for my tastes, my Luxman dealer recommended to go for 507 or 509 for dynamic experience.
