It's been a while since I looked forward to seeing a Shyamalan movie this much. It's currently got a Rotten Tomatoes score of 81%.

Maybe it'll be good, but I think the trailer is terrible. It makes the movie look 100% campy...

Split personality as a plot device strikes me as really hokey. The trailer doesn't alleviate that concern.

I'll admit that I tend to be overly picky when it comes to movies. I really haven't given M Night Shyamalan a chance since Signs, and that's on me.

As long as he doesn't stitch them all together from head to tail, I might go see this.

To me, it looks silly and after the last few films this guy has made I don't have any intention on seeing this one. Of course I could be wrong.

Change their body chemistry with their thoughts ? Yeah right ...........................what stupid horse****

I haven't watched the trailer as the movie doesn't interest me, so I don't know to what level the body chemistry changes are depicted, but body chemistry changes can indeed be affected by focused thoughts through meditation. You can control things like your heart-rate, stress (cortisol) response, blood pressure, pain tolerance, endorphin release for mild euphoria, etc. Of course, if the changes in the movie are hyped up to some kind of superhero levels, then it is horse****!

His movies have been terrible for some time. I'm not giving Shyamaladingdong anymore of my money.

Nah - it's on him. Shyamalan has been a pretty poor filmmaker since "Signs" - I can't think of a single MNS flick since "Signs" that I actually enjoyed...

  12. Yes, the trailer was a fail for me too.

Yeah, Wim Hof lays claim (through meditation, inter alia) that he can control his core body temperature: Wim Hof - Wikipedia »
    So also Tibetan monks.

We can only wish that Shyamalan would exercise more control and stop making crappy movies.:o

    Unbreakable" is freekin amazing.

  18. Tough one for me to praise. On the one hand, the script and the performances were all excellent. But the premise of the story is just so ridiculous that I could never buy into it completely. I do get why it receives praise.

I love his first four movies: Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, and The Village.

The disaster started with Lady in the Water. I am glad "The Visit" was well received (I have not seen it yet), and this film looks promising.

I think "Village" was the beginning of the end. It struck me as dull and too reliant on "twists" to attempt to redeem its flaws.

"The Visit" doesn't act as a rebound - it's just another bad MNS flick...

"Devil" is far from great, but it's entertaining and better than anything MNS has directed since "Signs"!

I didn't say it was.... I just 'liked' it....
Heck, I just saw "Lady In The Water" for the FIRST TIME yesterday.....
You know.... after YEARS of hearing how awful it was.....
.... I can honestly say... I've seen worse.....
that's not praise... I'm just saying, when you're told over and over that something's is a piece of crap...
you're brain gives the movie excuses for giving it a little love... just as if you're told how awesomely wonderful a movie is, you go in with a high expectation, and find disappointment...
