Mad Magazine's Guide to Hi-Fi (from 1958!)

    Here's an article from an ancient Mad Magazine (January 1958) that seems to be aimed at quite a few of the hardcore audiophiles that frequent these boards! (I was reminded of the article after going through a couple of the threads around here... (English is my native language, but some of the stuff discussed in this forum makes me go :confused: !!!)

    heh - I remember that from the MAD books that I read in the 70s... part of my offbeat humor certainly comes from those years!

    I also loved to read Mad Magazine. Although, I didn't purchase my first issue of the magazine until 1960.

    DUDe thanks for the full size scans I plan on printing out a poster of this article for my office. I have the perfect place on the inside of one of the doors to my music shelves. MOST COOL

    Yes.

    But it is nothing like it used to be. Many of the original artists and writers have either died or went on to other projects, and the quality of the magazine has suffered greatly as a result, IMO.
