Being a Heeler owner (Australian Cattle Dog) , I'm excited to see the return of "Dog" in some flashback scenes. Although I'm sure they will be brief.
The owner of the dog used in this new movie is a member of an ACD group I am in.

Thats why it looks like a reboot,in the trailer we can see it getting trashed.

  3. Yeah that will be interesting to see how they explain that.

So no one knows if it's a reboot or not?

Personally I think it is a partial reboot. The fact that Max has his car back which was destroyed in Road Warrior proves it. Kind of like a James Bond film with a new Bond.

I saw too much CGI. And worse, CGI/videogame camera moves. I hate that crap.

Part of the the thrill of the originals is that it was done for real. At half- or quarter-speed, of course, but . . .

It's looks like a remake. I was always more interested in the transition story between Mad Mad and Road Warrior.

Not only does he have the Interceptor, but it looks like the tanker as well. Maybe it starts at the last third of Road Warrior and goes on from there.

I didn't see anything in that trailer that hasn't been done 1,000 times before, more information needed before filing this under generic action flick.

Yeah I'm kind of feeling the same way.

Also, why is this coming out 2-1/2 years after filming completed??

You guys wondering about how he got the interceptor back should be thinking deeper. The real question is how the heck do any of the vehicles in Mad Max 2, 3, and this remake run in a post apocalyptic world without supplies of fresh fuel? The hydrocarbons dissipate in petrol (gas for you US people) quite quickly. After 2 years of sitting petrol is next to useless for running an internal combustion engine.

ROAD WARRIOR is a personal favorite, but it struck me (and lotsa other viewers) that the survivors, especially the bad guys, seem to burn more fuel during the course of the film than the tanker they're chasing.

Yeah, those motorcyclists are out there fooling around poppin' wheelies and **** when they should really be conserving every drop. Not to mention the fact that Humungus' posse could totally carpool and reduce their vehicle numbers by half.

I think they wanted it so they could continue to fool around and pop wheelies.

Exactly. I was being ironic. All the talk about how he got the interceptor back - its a movie! I was taking the mickey a little bit.

There's some really nice visuals there and I liked the use of a 'classical' soundtrack. I just hope there is some substance beyond the obvious gloss.
