I have a list of artists from Holland which had songs in the Hot 100 or were born in Holland but had success in the U.S.A.: AFROJACK (Nick Van De Wall) ALBERTI, Willy (Carel Verbrugge) ALICE DEEJAY (Techno-dance group) AMBER (Marie-Claire Cremers) BAKER, George, Selection BROOD, Herman CHAMPAGNE (Pop vocal group) CURTIE AND THE BOOMBOX (Female vocal group) DIESEL (Rock band) DULFER, Candy (with DAVID A. STEWART and her own album in the U.S. albums charts) FOCUS (Progressive-rock band) GODDESS (Female dance singer) GOLDEN EARRING The GOODMEN (Electronic duo) HEINTJE I TO I (Dance trio) KAYAK (Rock band) MAI TAI (Female dance trio) MOUTH & MACNEAL The SHOCKING BLUE SPIN (Instrumental pop-jazz-rock session band) The TEE SET 2 UNLIMITED (Techno-house dance duo) URBAN DANCE SQUAD (Rap-dance group) VANDENBERG (Rock group of Adrian Vandenberg) Van Halen brothers WERNER, Max (Lead singer of Kayak) XYMOX (Techno-rock/dance trio)

So here ist the rest: BAND OF GOLD (Session vocalists and musicians) HANSIE (Rock band led by female singer Johanna "Hansie" Ravenstein) L.A. STYLE (Techno-rave creation of producer/musician Denzil Slemming) STARS ON 45 (Almost everybody knows these session vocalists and musicians) From the U.S. R&B charts but not in the Hot 100: LABYRINTH Featuring Julie Loco (Studio group) The LIMIT (White dance duo) From the U.S. Country charts but not in the Hot 100: SASKIA & SERGE (Husband-and-wife duo) I have selected the Hot 100 artists from this charts and the "Bubbling Under charts"

This track develops from an easy strolling ensemble into a great big rocking orchestra. And be sure not to miss that guitar solo around 3:45. Getting better every minute:
An oldie but goodie that I don't think many people outside the Netherlands know ... featuring a young Jan Akkerman on guitar:
Recently became familiar with her albums. Great stuff! At least her first four albums are relatively easy to get as Japanese, dynamic-friendly imports. And indeed, a very sad story!

OK, here is someone who has made some inroads into becoming known outside the Netherlands and actually frequently gigs abroad (albeit mostly in a scaled down performance as support. He even toured with Ben Folds in the US). What I find fascinating about him that he has the guts to actually step on the break of the treadmill of success. Following his debut album he felt he was pressured into become a rockstar where as he is a singer/songwriter at heart. He retreated into the studio to make a 'small' album and that became his second album 7 Layers (released in 2015) and that album, helped by the runaway success of the single Home, went double platinum. Did all the major festivals here and the big indoor arena shows besides still retreating to the clubs as well. And again he seemed to have stepped on the breaks again because except for one new song (Bones) released this summer there is no sight of a new album. Here is the opening track of 7 Layers, performed live on one of our biggest late night talkshows:
I am tempted to write something about him.I am really trying not to say something bad or say one of THE worst bands ever or this is nothing to do with music, it’s only sound or I can’t believe my eyes seeing him at a festival where other people say or think , Wow, this is the best band I‘ve ever seen and I want to sing with him.No I am not going to do that because I don’t want to be as awefull as he made “music” Oops, now I did say something..
I always loved the atmosphere and the mystical sound of the song...although I later thought it had many elements of the Kinks' Waterloo Sunset with a faux 'A Day In The Life Ending' added....
