Then the film still runs complete with the "censored" banner.? Only a short added segment has the uncensored scene?

In those states where it is legal, I suggest being massively stoned for maximum enjoyment. It makes no sense but the colors are nice. The army recruiter is hilarious and very Pythonesque. The spaghetti dinner is a dream/nightmare(literally) brought to life.
If you are straight, stick with the tunes.

    Paul's half baked concept.

I'd say it's much better than Broad Street because:
    a. it's shorter
    b. the music is superior
    c. the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band

  8. BeatleJWOL

BeatleJWOL Carnival of Light enjoyer... IF I HAD ONE

    d. doesn't have "So Bad" on it.

I do enjoy Broad Street (yes, even the remakes) but what a snoozer!

The best thing that can be said about "So Bad" is that it quite clearly does not violate the Trade Descriptions Act. It is indeed an aptly-named song.

One of my favorite McCartney solo songs

Well, life would be boring if we all agreed on everything, wouldn't it? It was really NOT what I wanted to hear from McCartney as an 18-year-old fan at the time, and time hasn't made me like it any better.

Yes. It can. IMO Magical Mystery Tour makes Broadstreet seem like A Hard Day's Night.

  13. I would pay good money for a MMT DVD with a commentary track by Werner Herzog. :)

  15. e. it has some interest for pop culture historians as a period piece and notable trainwreck

I really like MMT (the film).

I wouldn't have chopped the amusing poolside sequence with Nat Jackley, and in particular the clip of Ivor Cutler singing 'I'm Going In A Field' though. Both add to it considerably.

Absolutely. It has a seemingly effortless strangeness and beauty the Beatles' self-conscious overexertions fail to achieve.

I would pay more money for a MMT DVD with a commentary track by Mike, Crow, and Tom Cervo..

I think they tried to sit through it, but gave up and left the theater! :)
As bad as the MMT movie was, the outtakes with Ivor Cutler and Happy Nat are even worse. But I think if they edited the film to remove bad stuff, it would have ended up with the opening scene and MMT song, a couple of videos, and the closing production of Your Mother Should Know.

I see what you did there Jamie;) The mistake behind the MMT film is that it was ever broadcast or released. If they had released the music the film would be the Carnival Of Light of video--people clamouring for it and begging that it be released.

JamieC - I saw it BOTH stoned and stone cold sober. Walked out of the theater both times scratching my head. This is a film not meant to be understood. Just a bunch of stoned hippies putting every thing they saw on film, in focus or not.
