It would definitely be better than Dynasty!

Dynast gets a lot of crap, but I actually think it is a nice sounding album. Much better than Unmasked.

Paul and Ace ae still well in the gave, and has Dirty Livin been a little less disco it would stand better with the classics.

I love Ace's album as is; wouldn't want to dilute it! And actually, it's my favorite KISS-related studio album (second only to Alive2)....

It is hard to take anything off that perfect album. I flip flop between Alive! and The solo being Ace's best. Both are so perfect in their own way.

Alive II is a great album, but feels uneven to me.

I saw the Love Gun tour and Alive 2 tour so I am probably biased

  6. But the band backs each other on every cut, right? What could have been...

"New York Groove" is my least favorite track on Ace's album, though. It has nothing to do with it being a cover.

No worries, it is still a fine album. I have always enjoyed it. Both Alive's are a rock n roll party in a box. .."....well alright!"

And for me (maybe not anybody else!) that would be near enough, though I'd have two from Peter.

I've always disliked Ace's record. Never thought he was much of a writer or singer. Only Animalize is below it in the KISS canon for me. Wiped Out is okay though so I'll take that.

Peter's album is surprisingly un-s hite. Three quarters of it is listenable enough with I'm Gonna Love You & I Can't Stop The Rain being excellent so they're in.

Gene's album is certainly quirky and I can understand why some people don't get it but for whatever reason, it works for me. I could live without Living In Sin but the rest of it is strong. I'll narrow it down to four for the compilation. Maybe Radioactive, Always Near You/Nowhere To Hide, See You Tonite & Man Of A 1000 Faces? Yeah, they'll do.

Paul's album is the strongest of the lot and, for me, a top five KISS record. Brilliant from first note to last. I even like Hold Me, Touch Me. It's cheesy for sure but it's prime camembert cheesy. We've already got a big ballad though so it's not going to make the cut. Instead I'll have Tonight You Belong To Me, Move On, Wouldn't You Like To Know Me & Take Me Away (Together As One).

Well there we are. Eleven tracks that would make a rather decent follow-up to Love Gun, I reckon!

This is interesting. While I agree that Ace is overrated as a lyric writer, the amount of catchy songs as a musician he puts down is pretty good. He sure was involved in a fair bit of Kiss classics. Can't imagine a Kiss world without Cold Gin unless we are talking about young Ace singing the anthem instead.

Curious you say dislike. Even if I turned my back on most every single stellar cut on his solo, I cannotnimagine Fractured Mirror getting at least a small nod from the largest detractors.

I know that I'm totally out on a limb as far as Ace is concerned. He was definitely an important part of the band & a fine guitarist. His solos elevate some of the early songs from good to great but as far his writing is concerned, over the whole of the KISS catalogue, I only really rate Strange Ways, Dark Light, Two Sides Of The Coin & Into The Void plus a couple of the co-writes. I don't care for Cold Gin or Shock Me at all.

Fractured Mirror seems to me to be Ace's attempt to prove himself a "serious" player. It's okay, I suppose, but not something I need to listen to often.

Have to emphasis that I'm aware that most KISS fans would regard me as a cloth-eared buffoon & it's entirely my loss that I really can't enjoy his songwriting & singing.

It would be something like this......

In September of 1978 they originally wanted to release all new albums from each member but a frugal thinking executive at Casablanca convinces Neil Bogart,Bill Aucoin and the band that a double album would be the best way to do it. Each member would get a whole side to themselves with each getting five tunes. The double album would be called 'Radioactive'. Ironically it would be their third double album in a row after Alive II and Double Platinum.......

Radioactive and New York Groove were released as singles and the B sides were...... Radioactive/Tonight You Belong To Me
New York Groove/I Can't Stop The Rain

I like your idea, much better than the 4 individually released albums. Only Ace gets the thumbs up
