I bought a Marantz 2238b off of Ebay. It arrived today, and everything works well on it EXCEPT the speaker system switch for the B speakers won't stay engaged. I can activate the speakers when I press the button, but as soon as I remove my finger it pops right back out.

My question is- is this a simple fix, or should I just box up the unit and send it back?

Have it fixed. The 2238b sounds great and is worth owning. :righton:

Are you planning on having a second set of speakers hooked up?

. Yes, I do. I've got 4 speaker set ups on both of my systems.

Nice vintage receiver! I have a 2235b that I love! Sounds like the switch may need to be cleaned or replaced. If you go to the Marantz
forum over at AudioKarma those folks are always willing to help!! Good luck!!!

Get a can of Deoxit 5. Spray the switch down, work the action many times until it works. You can see how the switch works by working it and looking at it. This is common for Marantz. I have cured 15+ switched the same way. If that doesn't cure it, the switches are available on ebay and can be replaced.
