The originals are still popular, as are the (functionally identical) reissues. In addition there are several auction site vendors selling bare or stuffed boards claiming to be Marantz 7 clone circuits. Aside from the so called clone kits and built units which have no switches or tone controls, and therefore are not clones at all, and aside from the originals not even being built on a PCB at all(!)......these boards DO at least duplicate the signal path of the 7/7C. Plus there are plenty of homemade clones and derivatives out there, I built one (minus the rotary switches) myself in the late 90s. This is what I'm after: is this phono stage circuit one people still really like? I know it's somewhat colored compared to later ones, but it's simple and sounds reasonably good to me. I suspect that better ones exist though.
