These threads used to be out past 27 pages within 2 days of the official announcement. Has the Classic Rock Brigade finally put up the white flag?

He has music that isn't as overtly political as "This Is America." And what I'm imagining would've been a more collaborative show, a la some of the older halftime shows, but with all Atlanta/Georgia based artists. Not every Super Bowl host city has the musical culture to be able to do something like that, but Atlanta certainly does at this moment in time.

All part of the NFL's strategy to shoot iself in the foot, and then keep blasting away. Why wait for demographics to shift, and funny business about underinflated footballs and concussion reports to implode your sport when you can do itself?

I usually go do something else for 25 minutes while the halftime show is on. This is unlikely to be an exception.

  8. Realize now that it will be in Atlanta. They should have had Outkast or Childish Gambino.
Had a hip-hop party with who they could have chosen from locally.

Thanks to your post, I also now know it's in Atlanta. To hell with any musics, they should have given the spot to Carl.

NFL may actually want to look into installing extra bathrooms for this.

It wasn't a "short film". It was an infamerrcial, where he was shamelessly endorsing some acne cream.

  12. How awesome if they went with Dr. Teeth & Electric Mayhem?

it's now rumored to be Cardi B. I'm wondering if Maroon 5 got dropped or backed out

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

Or, maybe Cardi B will join them.

I'm not a Cardi B fan. I just don't care for her style of rapping. Now, if Nicki Minaj and Cardi B were to appear on the same stage together, it would be better than the game itself. (For those who do not understand the context of them appearing together, the two hate each other and have very recently just about come to a physical altercation.)

Note that I am in no way a sports fan, and usually keep the TV turned off on Stupid Bowl Sunday.

I don't watch the game, although I did enjoy watching Lady Gaga's show the next day whenever that was. I'll never understand why someone at the NFL has it in for GWAR, though. In a sane world they'd be on halftime for every game.

According to my kids, they aren't particularly relevant anymore (except the song they did with Cardi B ... maybe she'll show up as a guest appearance?)

If Trav does “Sicko Mode,” I’ll be happy. Otherwise, I’ll walk upstairs and listen to BROCKHAMPTON instead.

As a young music critic, I agree. Maroon 5 haven’t been relevant since at least 5 years ago.
