I'd prefer a reissue of the Cinemax years, because I haven't seen them, augmented with the various spinoff one-off cable specials, like THE LAST POLKA, the Bobby Bitman documentary, etc.

Interesting that it mentions Robin Duke will be present "in the audience" but will not participate. When they did their SCTV reunion benefit show in 2009, Robin Duke was part of the show, but she performed with Women Fully Clothed, not with SCTV. There were two panel discussion type things included as extras on the SCTV DVDs. She took part in one, but not the other. (Been a while since I watched, but as I recall she didn't have a lot to say during the one she attended.)

Of course, I would not expect John Candy, Harold Ramis or Tony Rosato to be there. Don't know about people like Mary Charlotte Wilcox, John Hemphill and Mike Short.

And where’s Rick Moranis this time? I wonder why he’s not in the picture.

That was great. John Candy as a sadistic prison matron. I loved that man!

Attended the taping today. Netflix has asked for spoilers to not be leaked (although they are out there if you look) but will say that Rick Moranis got the biggest ovation when they came out on stage, John Candy's spirit and artistry will be a huge part of this special, clips from the original show were well-chosen, Jimmy Kimmel did a good job moderating, and you can feel the love and respect they all have for each other (and Harold Ramis and John Candy).

It's going to be a great special from what I saw.

It's still on Scorsese's IMDB page but... that's it. No release date, nothing.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe there is an issue with the clips? Some of the songs they did were covers. Although you can easily find many of these clips on YouTube and I am not always clear with licenses for songs, so it's just a suggestion. It's just strange that everything has gone quiet a year later.

And where's my "Cinemax & Spinoffs" DVD box set? I mean, this is capitalism, right? Supply meets demand?

:) I hope there is a fair use clause for this stuff. But if there isn't there is no way this clip will make it. The Rich Little version does it in.
