A number of marketplace sellers have the new issues at £14.50 plus postage, making 15.76 and giving a little saving over the amazon price...

So, at the eleventh hour, I have cancelled my amazon pre-order and gone with dodax; they have always been very good...

Just spinning my new copy of Protection. It looks like a remaster, other than catalog numbers on the matrices, there are no other distinguishing marks to denote a cutting engineer

To my ears this sounds flat and lifeless, there is no energy to this cut at all. It might be a bit better cranked up a bit, but at my normal listening position of -14db, which normally serves me well for 99.9% of everything else, it isn't doing it for me.

    Sorry its not better news.

You need to play some Creme Brulee to cheer you up.

The new Protection was done by Mike Marsh at The Exchange according to Discogs? Or is that the original credits? Sounds pretty damn good on my system...

Just finished listening ST and the "Protection ". ST sounds phenomenal, and "Protection" sounds very, very good.

Sorry to appear stupid........but what is ST?

Were you able to compare Protection with the original vinyl release?

    Hi,

Unfortunately not. All I have is the original CD. Haven't made any direct comparison, but I have a pretty good music memory of this one :)

    It doesn't say 'Pre order'

It says 'Temporarily Out Of Stock'

The same with 100th Window........no release dates for either.

With Pre Orders, you see a release date.

I just pre ordered it for $34.98, release date is January 20, 2017. All the info is displayed on the Amazon site. Weird you can't see it, maybe it's not yet available in the UK? Anyway I posted the link again. Do check it out.

    link below:
    https://www.amazon.com/Heligoland-2...e=UTF8&qid=1481651147&sr=1-2&tag=mfconvert-20

100th Window is $59.98, released Jan 20th as well:

Ok.....I think what is happening is that when I click the link, it automatically directs me to Amazon UK.....

And that's where it says Temporarily Out Of Stock......I guess Amazon.com must have more up to date info.

    Thanks anyway

Looks like the release date was pushed back to March. It was at Jan 2017 the other day. Thanks for the update.

Protection reissue is somewhere between meh and ok, below average. Little surface noisy on side A , side B is better. Can't tell who pressed it and who mastered it but I agree about the dull sound, muffled really. An album I know like the back of my hand and the CD is easily better.

I own Blue Lines remaster and Mezzanine reisue as well. Mezzanine is a noisy pressing but at least mastering is decent.

Don't mind the wait and delay but what's up with 100th window pricing??

Just got my Blue Lines and Protection reissues, listened to Side A of Blue Lines and it sounded fine to me, haven't yet listened to Protection...kind of hoping/praying its better than what I'm hearing.

I don't think the 2013/2014 vinyl reissue was ever released in the US.

So is Blue Lines or Protection 2016 reissue anywhere near as good as the 2014 Mezzanine genius pressing?

Again I do not have a very good setup so take my review for what it is, I think the depth and warmth of Mezzanine is far superior to the pressings of Blue Lines or Protection, the latter being the more noticeably compressed sounding. Both are good and better than nothing but Mezzanine is the best followed by Blue Lines and then Protection.
