Mastering Guru-777es Digital Filters

    Mastering guru-can you tell us if you use the digital filters on the sony 777 and if so on which discs did it make a difference in the sound.

    Well, it's so subjective, but mainly I stick with the default Sony setting. Seems to measure the most flat. That's what I need for my work.

    Which settings do you like?

    i also use the default setting it sounds the best.and the other filters don't do much on a lot of cd's.

    For what it's worth, on my SCD-1, I use filter 3 for small ensemble recordings (acoustic, jazz). I seem to like the intimacy that it introduces into the sound. Also, I have taken off that plate that they put on to protect the low-pass filter and switched the filter off. I seem to get a better "presence" that way, even though I'm listening through older vacuum tube equipment (Marantz 7C, 9's).
