New Paul McCartney album "Egypt Station" coming September 7, 2018*

Fake news, the next official release will be out soon (well a few months later) and it's not a new album but something else, more info later when we have green light.

 

At least, Paul could show up and tell us not to wait for anything else...

It's pretty strange that he would sell (or give away, whatever) copies of the new album along with concert tickets if he's not even going to release it this year. Also, since he's spending pretty much the entire months of September, October and December away on tour, he won't have much time to finish recording the album this year either. In that case, I wouldn't expect it to be released until April or May next year, at the earliest. Total bummer.

 

Looking forward to hearing what the release will be.

 

I don't want to depress anyone, but if the new album does indeed come out next year, it will be the longest gap between Paul McCartney albums... ever.

We know that Paul was in the middle of his new album in March from this year, so it's possible that the album will be released in the next month

I've been waiting for years and years for Paul to release 'When The Wind Blows' and this wasn't exactly the way I wanted it to happen...

He said he was fool by someone else who post this on the wikipedia page and add it to the discography... I thought it was him who put that on wikipedia

So it is NOT a brand-new album. And both you and maccawings also have been going out of your way to say that it is "something else", and NOT an official Archive set. Neither of you have stated that explicitly, but this is how I've interpreted your statements.

I hate to say it, but now I'm thinking it's going to be some new iteration of the Band On The Run album.
