I have just finished reading Stuart Bell's account of Paul's recent tour in Brazil & Mexico and noticed this info:

"Anyone familiar with Paul’s work rate in the days of The Beatles will know he is no slouch. Back then it was an endless whirl of touring, interviews, radio and TV sessions and somehow between all that they recorded some of the greatest and most important albums and singles of all time. All these years later, Paul is just as careful to use his time productively. Just hours after his São Paulo show, he heads into a recording studio in the city to work on new music, possibly inspired by this trip. And then it is on to Belo Horizonte, around 360 miles north east".

So there was a recording session in Brazil on October 16? That's quite a surprise!

From the last 'You Gave Me the Answer':

We asked Paul, “What would you like to achieve in 2018?”

Paul: “I’ll probably be putting out a new album. So, I’d like that to be something I really love and then hopefully the fans will love it too! We’re putting the finishing touches to it now and at the beginning of next year. So, I would like to achieve making that a really great album. Fingers crossed! That’s not what it’s called, but fingers crossed! [Pauses] It could be… it COULD be the new album title!”

He then said that he is currently putting the finishing touches on it, though. Unless he intends to hide the album away for a year, it's definitely coming out in 2018.

MPL has a different meaning of the word "definitely" than you or I do. For example, the album shown below was DEFINITELY coming out in 1975, 1978, 1981, 1986, and .... So I think "probably" is a lot safer. ;)

I like that he says he's going to try to make it a really great one.

So its being finished up, he's clearly not sure if it will be released this year and it doesn't have a title and from what I read after saying it wouldn't be, he sort of humorously thought about naming it Fingers Crossed. (obviously probably won't, lol)

Instead of Fingers Crossed, he could call it:
    Legs Crossed
    Double Crossed
    Eyes Crossed
    Wires Crossed
    Signals Crossed
    Star Crossed
    Swords Crossed

Or what about calling the new album Wings Over The Moon?^^

  16. Since we're off on tangents, could someone tell me about "Crossroads"? Is it that UK TV program? What do the video images of the young man and the cat have to do with it all?

Images are unrelated to the show, or to the song for that matter!

As for what the show is about, I'll leave that to one of our fine UK members.

  18. I was hoping the TV show would be all about the ongoing adventures of the young man and the cat, while McCartney music played in the background! Oh well. Back to naming the next album...

Crossroads was a long running soap opera, started in the early 6os and ran until the late 1980s, focusing on the goings on in a Motel (The Crossroads Motel) near Birmingham. It was renowned for wobbly sets, dodgy acting, and daft storylines, but was a big hit in this country. My memory seen to tell me it was on 3 times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) at about 6.30pm.

Fun fact for any Nick Drake fans - his sister Gabrielle payed the motel manager for a while in the 1980s!

Here's the closing theme tune from 1980, not too dissimilar from the version McCartney would have known when he did his cover a few years earlier-

I think they used it on a wedding episode, I'll check.....

Edit: I can just see references to it being used at the end of "dramatic episodes". Anyone familiar with Crossroads will likely interpret that as "rarely" ;)

Several allegations of rape have just been leveled against Oscar winning director Paul Haggis, so I presume that the video he directed for Paul will likely be scrapped now.
