How much did you have to pay the Zappa family before you posted that?

Why would going streaming/download only cause a delay? If anything, it ought to mean fewer delays.

I wonder what hair dye he's using on his legs. Hmmm.

Hey, Paul's had an on again/off again relationship with Capitol ever since he did the Columbia thing in 1979. And the main reason Columbia signed him then is the same reason Concord, Capitol etc sign him now- for the back catalogue. And, yeah, eventually the rest of the archival releases.

No, I've no clue; I just recall reading that somewhere and then, hey presto, we get download-gate. I'm not one for conspiracy theories and my own view is that McCartney will continue to issue physical product but I also know he's a pragmatist and if someone tells him that physical is so last century and download is where it's at, I'm sure he'd be all over it.

Not necessarily. Your post assumes that making stuff available for download is just about uploading and offering a web page but things are never that easy. If nothing else, its about working out what to issue, when, how the infrastructure might work without crashing when it goes live and everyone tries to download... Things are never just as easy as "put it on the website".

In that case, just put out some new coloring pages and be done with it.... ;)

Very well could be, but maybe he'll do just the opposite. I mean, vinyl is so last century but for some reason it's still being produced. Crazy world we live in.

Sorry I meant that he's heard that it's recorded, so it seems like it's ready for mixing and finishing up, yeah?

I think we should be taking Tweets and public posts like this at face value - I can't imagine Emerick encoding public announcements with subtle hints or messages - as said before, all this post means is that he's been in contact with Paul, he knows the album is near completion (has probably listened to the single at least) and has offered to work on mixing it. At any rate we should expect an announcement of sorts within the next few months (Fingers Crossed!)

Once an album enters the mixing stage, how long does it usually take for it to be completed?
I'm assuming Paul's new album is entering that stage due to Mr. Emerick having been invited to have a listen.

I assume a month. But some of it has been mixed already, with Ryan Tedder. The instagram stories said like Mix Day 1 and Mix Day 2, so I would assume that process has started. Then it's time for sequencing, album title, and cover art!

So he's got at least Ryan Tedder helping with the mixing and Geoff Emerick as a second opinion, probably other people involved in this phase as well. Let's say it takes another couple of months to finish it all, including cover art. Maybe we'll get an announcement around June and the album itself released a couple of months after that?
