McIntosh Labs sells a dvd-audio player.....so what?

    Hmm, I don't know that much about the PCBs. I can tell you that the inside of this thing looks so different from the insides of the RP91K it's amazing.

    Hmmmm, what about the Denon 900? It has the 12bit video DAC and the 24/192 Burr-Brown audio DACs. It also uses the superior Faroudja deinterlacing, so it's not based on the RP91. SRP is only $329...this could be a perfect player for McIntosh to use as a foundation. Are you sure they are using Panasonics?

    EDIT: Neverind, the 900 doesn't do DVD-A. Which makes their use of 24/192 DACs superfluous.

    I don't know about this model, but Yamaha tends to use Burr-Browns in all of its better equipment.

    Yes, definitely. The MVP851 uses a scaling feature of the Genesis chipset that was only available as part of the RP91K. Denon also uses this as the basis for their DVM-4800. So there are only 3 players out there with this type of Genesis-based scaling feature: RP91K, DVM-4800, MVP851 (excluding of course HTPC-based players).
