    Surprise . . . heeeeeee's back!! Mel Gibson has a new movie coming out which, as one might predict, is being released by an Australian film company. He plays an angry ex-con who . . . I know, I know, hardly a stretch for him, eh?

    Father protects daughter, a la the first Taken movie. Whereas Liam Neeson played a bad a$$ (and I enjoyed the first Taken though its action sequences were cartoonish), Mel is a bad a$$.

    I hope it's good, but won't be disappointed by a box office dive.

    Mel's had a troubled career because of his mouth.... but I do like his movies.

    He was also the reason Robert Downey Jr got back into movies after his drug problems....Mel covered RDJ's insurance for one film, which got him back working, and showed Jr could be relied on to carry a movie while sober, which resurrected Downey's career.

    I'll definitely see this one.

    I love when he got pulled over for driving under the influence and he looks at the female cop at the scene and says, "What are you looking at Sugar T*ts." Priceless.

    Crews that worked with him always had good things to say about him, at least, the crew members I met. A practical joker, he was known for being very professional, while able to crack up the crew with his antics.

    This speech from Downey says it all, imo;

    Of course, it's also nice to hear that Robin Williams also credits Gibson with telling him to seek help.

    I watched it last night. I thought it was pretty good. Mel looks good for his age & it was a fun ride even if it wasn't groundbreaking within the genre.

    Those things are irrelevant to whether or not one enjoys him as an actor. A person's politicial views are inconsequential. It's their actions that are consequential. I would never judge a person over their views. I would judge them over their actions. One should be able to separate an actor's views and their acting.

    It's entertainment - if his views make it unpleasant for me (or someone else) to watch his movies, that's my prerogative, just as it's your prerogative to disregard his views and enjoy his movies.
