    Hello Friends,

It is a windy, drizzly afternoon. I am eagerly awaiting the UPS delivery person to drop on my doorstep a package containing DCC's release of Linda Ronstadt's GH, GH Vol II, and the Best of the Doobie Bros. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas.

In the meantime, per Steve's request for 300 members, I finally decided to register on this fine forum. Now I don't feel like a voyuer anymore :0) I love reading your discussions everyday, and perhaps soon, I will partake in them.

    A little about me...

I am a two-speaker snob, but recently after 10 years of deliberation, added a subwoofer.

My first exposure to DCC was a fluke when I casually bought Elton John's Greatest Hits. I've bought MoFi and Sony's Super-Bit-Whatevers in the past and never thought THAT much about them. When I popped in Elton's GH, I fell to the floor *THUD*. It was like hearing that recording (that was burned in my brain since it was first released) for the very first time - It was like how I always wanted to hear that recording. I knew Gold could sound that good! ;0)

I am a bona-fide member of the "Steve Hoffman Fan Club". Whenever a discussion turns to music, I always bring the man's name up, but no one I converse with has ever heard of him.

O.K. folks take care, and please don't ever scare me again about SACD being discontinued.

    Welcome, Ron!

One day I gotta track down Linda R's GH2, too! I wish Steve did all her early catalogue - classic, fantastic stuff! Don't you?

    Have fun listening! :)

Great story! I had that same *THUD* experience when I first heard Buddy Holly FTOMT back in 1987 (or thereabouts). I was simply stunned that someting from the 50's could sound that amazing.... like you, I was instantly a part of the SH fan club.

Anyways, please do de-lurk more often!

    Welcome Ron,
Yeah I'm a two speaker snob as well. No sub yet.

I became a Steve Hoffman fan back in 1993 when I purchased Bob Dylan Hwy. 61 Re. for $8.50 Can. used.

I couldn't believe that a Dylan album could sound that good (he says after picking up his chin off the floor).

Ahhhh... the UPS truck. Merry Christmas to me, Merry Christmas to me..... [IMG]
