Yes, I know this is a tangled web, but I want to buy a few Beatles CDs.

I've come across the MFSL versions of the White Album and Abbey Road. Are they recommended? Which other versions are worth buying for the long run?

I have the first six Beatles albums on "MFSL" CD. Of course, they are needle drops from the MFSL LP Box set. Every now and then I can hear a "pop", but they still sound a whole lot better than the official CDs. I picked mine up in Japan for next to nothing, but you may have to pay more for them in the states. Hope that helps.

Yeah, they're phonies, but quite good. Only pick them up if you're in Japan ;) because they must be cheaper that way. That is the supposed source for the MFSL look-alikes.

Then, there are always the "Capitol Versions" pirates from the early 90's......
