The mastering is great, the vinyl is silent - but I'm now on my second copy of this and each have a non-fill rip moments into 'Saeto' - just as the drum picks it up a notch.

Anyone else with this issue? Or more importantly - anyone who has a clean copy and where did you get it from?

Mine both came from Music Direct, numbers 313 and 425.

    Thanks -
    j

I have no idea. But if it's a non-fill issue, isn't it safe to say EVERY copy from this pressing will have the same issue? If that's the case, and I could be mistaken, it's a serious error in QC on MFSL's part.

No, not every one from the run will have the problem, as many times it's operator related. Sorry that both of your copies had problems.

Out of curiosity, did they make you pay for return shipping? I just placed an order with MoFi for the first time over the weekend and noticed a suspect little clause in the fine print of their return policy. If they didn't cover return shipping, it seems rather ridiculous, especially given that they're more than just a vendor; they're the company that produced the product in the first place.

Most places do not cover return shipping. Amazon has spoiled us.

I've let Music Direct know about the first copy and I should make it over there this weekend to let them know about the second. Since they own MFSL it should be passed on.

I'm spoiled - I live in Chicago and go the Music Direct warehouse to pick MFSL's up in person - so I can return them with no charge and no hassled - they are great there.
That being said - I won't be replacing this second copy because I assume this will be an issue with most of the copies they have on hand.
I'm hoping to hear from others who might have clean copies before I order from somewhere where the return policy is not so friendly.

And I really really want this release.

I hope they can resolve the problem.
