Greetings all, If this is a duplicate post, my apologies. I have somewhat waded through the threads and can't find if this question has been posted before. Does anyone know how MFSL comes to the decision to release an album in SACD or red book? I just picked up Hasten Down The Wind, which wasn't mastered to SACD, however, Toulouse Street will be SACD. Forgive me if this is pedantic, I would just like to know. Does it have to do with the earlier quad releases? Recording or tape quality? And, why can't, won't, don't they release them as two channel, if no quad release existed. Most everything, from the 70's onward, was recorded on 16+ track recorders, anyway. Also, I'm not that impressed with multichannel, as are many others. Two channel suits me just fine. I don't need to be enveloped by sound, nor do I need to hear rear speakers reproducing extraneous ambient sound, that would be deleterious to my listening enjoyment. I want to hear music, not some echo bouncing off the back wall, or someone coughing behind me. If I want that experience, I will go to a concert, or, a movie. Thanks a bunch, all, in advance.
