    The soundtrack to this film is beautiful -- and unusual. Mica Levi's music is a major contributor to the success of the narrative. Structurally, the film is a series of Jackie Kennedy's recollections as told to an interviewer shortly after the assassination. The Mica Levi musical pieces are only played during her memories and add a surreal and strongly dramatic tone to those events.

    It's very effective.

    Also, the scene of her final night alone in the White House listening to the cast album of "Camelot" is very compelling.

    This was an incredible movie, and an incredible performance by Natalie Portman, that didn't get enough attention in a very flashy year for movies. This movie pulls no punches in it's depiction of events that have been poured over by countless books, TV shows, documentaries, but surprisingly, few movies, and is not for the faint of heart. The music really added to the poignancy of the images.
