Why do I not hold out much hope that this will be the second coming of Off the Wall...
great, we'll have to put up with all that "king of pop" propaganda footage of the fainting fans one more time it seems. Be curious to see what subject matters he writes about. he's had an interesting few years to say the least.
Not even Michael Jackson, unless he is totally insane, can still claim to be the "king" of anything, except maybe in offshore tax shelters and selling publishing rights....
The King of Nip and Tuck???
If this guy has one ounce of talent left, oh nevermind.
is Albini producing?
Strangely there is a (slim) chance for a great record from him now that he's down and out, branded and exiled. Michael WAS definetely very talented and if there's still some talent (and soul) left in him (which I honestly don't know) he can come up with something personal and honest. Also many people (me included) would rather give him a chance now (when he is anticool and is at the lowest point in his life and career) than when he was an extremely annoying King of Pop or whatever he was called.
There's a slim chance if he's "medication-free." But that's a BIG "if."
And it wouldn't hurt to have Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton back on board
How many copies can he sell where he lives now?
Call Quincy Jones
Quit the histrionics with the voice...the hiccups and heehee's and just sing like a human being
Real musicians.....no hippity hoppy electronics.
Yeah, and just START the song instead of putting a minute and a half of atmospherics and barely audible wind and all that crap at the beginning and end of every song.
Too late I think for Michael friends....
Everytime I hear MJ is going to do an album I think "Oh maybe this one will be like Off The Wall" and everytime I'm sorely disappointed.
That train left the station many plastic surgeries ago
Oh Kenny--I hardly recognized ya!
Not that it will happen, but just think if MJ were to start acting human, hire the likes of Q. Jones or even Prince to produce, and pull some old tracks from the vaults (Wall / Thriller) and record a true radio-friendly, old-school pop album with a modern twist.
I'm not sure it would sell no matter how good it was, but you never know... OJ is still doing fairly well for himself.
I still remember how iconic the dude was in 1983. He could have peddled horse-s**t at the State Fair and the line would have been around the complex.
if were a guessing man i would venture that you have to be a human being to sing like a human being.
Someone once said: 'if you misuse your talent, it will leave you'. True words indeed.
That would be the best thing for him to do. Michael Jackson's more recent work has relied on him doing the gimmicky histrionics with his voice, and the production has been very sterile sounding and trendy. I think if he got together with the right people, and didn't allow his ego or any other insanity get in the way, he could make a great album. In spite of what everyone sees on the surface, there's still a great vocalist and entertainer in there. That I believe strongly.
Thank You!! I hate that garbage!!
