It's a bit messy, with heavily edited live tracks (removal of the theme from "Directions" for example) given new names and then some totally different studio tracks.

I have been silently following this thread with great interest-I have had bb jj for years, recently found the iasw 3 cd set, love the recent miles at Fillmore complete set, and was looking for a next move... I am thinking on the corner since I have the bb and jh original albums (including the former on sacd from years ago, and the latter on cd from years before that).I figure I can wait on the complete box sets for these two, and would like to get something with all new (to me) material...

What is the consensus on the itunes complete on the corner set? While the other complete sets are available on cd for a reasonable price, this on the corner cd set is a mint (I assume it is oop), so it seems as if the only way to get it at a decent price is via iTunes. Have any of you folks heard the iTunes tracks? Are they decent quality, or would I be better off saving my $45 and springing for the cd set, which would seem to cost at least three times as much..? Thanks, in advance...

Speaking of Miles albums from this period-IMO the 1968 Miles in the sky is underrated.
Just heard it again today while waiting on Get up with it- a great album!!!

  6. After he got on Columbia (and before the "retirement years"), there are few Miles studio efforts that aren't rewarding, at least on some level.

I certainly have my favorites, and some short periods that don't work for me as much -- but in the end, it's all interesting.

Never got Directions, but I did purchase Circle In The Round when it was out in the red-border CD series around 1990. For the completists, there are a few unique edits/mixes in both, mainly the 26 minute "Circle" versus the 33 minute one found in the 65-68 box set.

Directions was never released domestically. I guess the completist (myself included) does need everything, but for newbies just getting into the music cheaper is better. I kinda wish that I had come to Miles AFTER the whole "rush to market" stuff had happened.

Great post amd my thoughts exactly. Good to see several superb (IMHO) post-retirement albums listed, especially The Man With The Horn, which is one of my absolute favorite Miles albums.

I believe they used this cover for record club versions.

What are the best sounding versions of Aghartha and Panagea in their original mixes?

Interesting questuion-im interested in that too.
In another thread ive read about differences on the IASW releases but im a bit confused about that.
Which cd has now original mix included?
Really love this album &would love to hear original mix excluding an expensive search for original lp.

Thank you all very much for kind supportment!!!

Another vote for Dark Magus. To me, it sounds rawer and riskier than Agharta, even.

I believe the alternate Live/Evil cover was for record clubs.
