    Isn't that how it's pronounced?
Surely more obvious is Liam's stretching of words like "imaginay-shee-un"

What is this thing with Nu Orleens or New Olens, even with different accents (accent on the last syllabe in the first case, on the 'O' in the second case)?
And what about that Los Angelees in the Arlo Guthrie song?

"Rio Grande" pronounced as "Rio Grand" in Duran Duran's 'Rio'.

Wolfgang Flur in 'Moda Makina (Fashion Machine') pronounces the word 'improved' as 'improaved' (like in 'loaf').

I notice both of you are from the UK. Yes, Liam's pronunciation is a perfectly normal pronunciation for UK English and other rhotic accents and is definitely not a "mispronunciation" from his perspective. In the US and Canada, however, where the accents are mostly non-rhotic, we would be unlikely to insert the "r" sound between "supernova" and "in." Instead, we would have a glottal stop: "Champagne supernova [gulp] in the sky." It's the same reason why UK and US English speakers would pronounce the phrase "Barack Obama and David Cameron" differently. (UK speakers would say "Obammer" and US speakers mostly would not.)

Reminds me of when I first visited the UK in the early '00s. I walked into a Virgin Megastore and heard an announcement for a Samantha Mumba album. As an American, I would pronounce her name is "Sa-Man-THA Mum-BA" but the announcer said "Sa-Manther Mum-ber!"

We used to mispronounce it intentionally as "She's so f@#%able." Classy kids, we were.

I don't want to derail this thread and there may be another thread on this already, but most people mispronounce David Bowie's surname.
It is Bowie as in bow and arrow, not Bowie as in bow wow.

In "I am the Walrus" John Lennon mispronounces the word "crabalocker". As everyone knows, it should be "Crab-a-loke-er" (to rhyme with stoker).
