I agree with all of this. Bit disappointed in the Aimee Mann. Hot Buttered Soul is unbelievable.

I guess you might not have the original 45, but if you listen to it, it has the same slow down and speed up. Since I have my father's original 45, it has been like that since the time it was released. MFSL decided not to correct history and release it as it has been for decades.

Im starting to get the feeling that Mofi might be done with SACD. Art Pepper and Doolittle might have been the last ones. No proof, Just a hunch. I see no SACDs listed for their future releases tho. Hopefully Im wrong!

You can not own a mastering. If the license expires, any future release can use the same mastering. I am actually surprised that this happens so seldom.

I have the two MFSL Kinks discs (and not the later KONK releases), so wouldn't the only way we would know is if the credits in the later KONK releases mirror the same mastering credits in the liner notes. Anyone who has the KONK releases can tell us what the credits indicate.

Recently picked up Steamin' and Soultrane, and am kicking myself for waiting 10 years to do so. These are outstanding.

I preferred the DCC Gold CDs for Soultrane and Steamin over the MFSL SACDs. Sounded more natural to me.

I really really like the Doobie Bros "What Were Once Vices....." The MFSL SACD is excellent, imo.

I really like the Little Richard MFSL SACD (first two albums on one disc). It's the best I've heard those albums sound!
