Not invested in all the Yokos yet but what I have is great. HitchHiker is fantastic. Trouble No More made me totally reevaluate him as an artist and I had already liked that period anyway. But unlike Dylanphiles I had no boots of those shows.
I feel I can only comment / vote on ones I have heard. There's my five.

I voted for The Beatles, Neil Young, David Bowie (vinyl box, in my case: I can overlook the "Heroes" debacle to include it here) and Radiohead OKNOTOK blue vinyl, which sounds superb.
I would also give honourable mention to Marillion's Misplaced Childhood set, which was excellent and very competitively priced.

  6. Of these I'd pick Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Gene Clark (I already bought that one in 2016). But as a Grateful Dead fan my favourite reissue of the year was the May 1977 Get Shown The Light set. Others I'm missing here include:

    Marillion - Misplaced Childhood deluxe
Jethro Tull - Songs From The Wood deluxe
    King Crimson - Sailors' Tales
Laura Nyro - A Little Magic, A Little Kindness
Godley & Creme - Body Of Work 1978-1988

And there must be a few others I can't think of right now.

Do you recommend the Gene Clark?

  8. It depends on how much you like Gene Clark, since it's quite pricey. But if you're a fan you'll find a lot here that you really like, the sound is nice and it's nicely packaged with a beautiful booklet.

Personally, I’d include NIN - The Fragile in there. One of the best listening experiences to date.

    Of the selection

    Lal & Mike Waterston......by far.......

Especially the 2CD version with the demos.

Can't believe Jethro Tull Songs From The Wood didn't make it.....its the perfect example of how a reissue should be.....

No suprise Sgt Peppers on there.....just what the world needed....another version of Sgt Peppers.

Yes. Very odd that it didn’t make the Mojo or Uncut lists.

I just hate these polls where you cannot see the results without voting. I would be interested in what are the favorites reissues of forum members on this list, but because I’ve only heard a few of them, I cannot say which of these would be my favorites.

I respectfully submit that polls where you have to vote to see the results are of limited value because the choice is to simply vote for something (anything) to see the results or, as I do, to skip it and never know what members voted for. I cannot see any good reason for hiding the results from folks who can’t or won’t vote.

Strictly speaking the Monk isn't a reissue.

I am sorry you hate the poll. The idea was to encourage voting that isn’t – and cannot be – influenced hy others’ votes.

I know! Nor is the Dylan. They should use the word “archive” as Uncut do.

The Beatles followed by Bob Dylan lead in popularity. That's a surprise to see on this forum.

They are popular artists. Is that a problem?

I’m not a JT fan but read of their popularity and good reception from buyers.

I see the Brian Eno half speed things are there, which is pretty hilarious considering several tracks have audible flickering / dropouts, including one channel almost completely disappearing for a couple of seconds during The Big Ship from Another Green World.

Even if that doesn’t bother people, the carefully sequenced flow of the albums is done a serious disservice split across four sides, eg the gapless segue from the track Dead Finks Don’t Talk into the track Cindy Tells Me from the Here Come the Warm Jets album, present for 43 years of issues and reissues, is gone.

I think they are very deeply flawed, expensive releases of four of the best rock albums ever made.

I wonder how and why they got on Mojo’s list......

I think even haters would be impressed by the Ono reissues, at least due to the packaging and value which was fantastic, and no sound problems (if you’re one of us who likes the music, especially Fly..).
