"Current hardware manufacturers for SACD now include Marantz, Classé, Accuphase, Pioneer, Sony, and Philips. Takashino announced that products will be arriving shortly from dCS, Linn, Luxman, Lindemann, Denon, Kenwood, Onkyo, and Yamaha. "

Good news for those of us (like me!) who decided against purchasing a SACD player at the boxing day sales.

    Gee Gary,

I wonder where all those posters are that said adamantly that SACD would die and DVD-A would be the ruler are right now? ;) :D

I'll bet they are buying SACD players at the CES show.

My favorite quote from the show is from Mr Tower Records himself, Russ Solomon, who said he hopes folks will replace their CDs with SACDs "just like they replaced LPs with CDs".

In other news, Universal mentioned 3 of the titles slated for SACD release in the spring of 2002:
Diana Krall's "The Look of Love",
    Shelby Lynne's "Love Shelby", and
    Steely Dan's "Gaucho".

I'm far more interested in the other three: A Love Supreme, Getz & Gilberto, and Allman Bros at Fillmore East. Bring'em on! :D

Oh and Muddy Waters--Folk Singer, which I thankfully never bothered to pick up on CD.

    Greg M,

Now there will be an interesting/entertaining
    comparison.

The MFSL Muddy Waters: Folk Singer against the SACD version.

PS. The MFSL version is really good.

Don't forget the Classic DAD, Steve's CD, the latest CD, the MFSL LP, and who knows how many other versions.

    NOT!

The reason Denon is comming with SACD is Pioneers Elite 47 (I'm not sure - but what else should it be?).. Denon has just announced 2 High End DVD Audio player... Everybody is not interesting losing money so they are releasing few SCAD models...

I would bet with anyone of you in here... :)
Within 6 - 12 months from now, there will be over double numbers of DVD Audio players than SACD players..

    :)

    Jesper, you could be right!

I'm just waiting for some product reviews of as many players as I can get before I plunge into the pool.

    (You realise, of course, I said "They're all buying SACD players" for fun, right?) ;

I have no preference of one format over the other at this point. The only time I will get concerned is when my favorite titles are on one format and NOT the other. To be safe, I think I need either a multi player or one of each. The problem with a multi player is that there *could* be compromises with the quality of one format. Who knows?

Sorry, the press release that I saw mentioned only the 3 that I listed.

Yup, that's what REALLY sux about the whole hi-rez format war,
and that's why serious audiophiles REALLY need to be able to play back both new formats, like it or not.

For example, Sony has music that they bought and won't release on DVD-A, so if you want hi-rez Columbia Dylan, you gotta get an SACD.

While on the other hand, if you want hi-rez Warner Bros. Grateful Dead, you gotta get a DVD-A.

And the truly funny thing is, nobody I know IN REAL LIFE actually cares, as long as they can steal an mp3 file from somewhere on the web and burn a cd with it. :)

    Ofcourse I am! :)

Thats the reason Im using this forum as much as possible.. People are nice in here and we all have the right to be here! :)

I'm in for DVD Audio (I know many of you pro SACD are hunting me like duck - for saying this!)

To be honest I think both format will be here. They did'nt build Rome in one day - did they?
