How cool! I've been doing some research, and checking on these old acetate record tins.
They're generally from the U.K. and held blank EMIdisc lacquers for secure storage and
shipping .. Pictured here is a late 1950's green label EMIdisc box of blanks, each acetate
has padding between the discs. The acetate tin I posted a few pages earlier.. w/ the "Fresh
From Apple'' shipping label, "A is for Apple Records" promotional sticker, and partial EMI
label holds 10" lacquers. I find this odd Beatles acetate tin absolutely fantastic, compelling, historical, and I want to add this to my collection.. we'll see what happens.

I own a mother stamper of side 4 of the white album — Mr. Spizer said that it was probably made in the 80s - 90s because it is stamped TRANSCO, a company that made stampers after Caputal stopped producing them. — There are only a few skips, but could possibly use a good cleaning. I don’t dare clean it in fear of damaging it. Anyone with any professional knowledge of cleaning stampers?

The Beatles ''67 - 70'' (side one) is the only stamper I have..
It's an original 1973 plate used at Capitol's Jacksonville factory.
I have never attempted to play it .. I do not have any solid info on
the cleaning of the discs. I would be very careful..

I hadn't pulled out my original Imagine album in forever, when I did I stumbled on this little gem I stuck in there for safekeeping. As a bonus it's postmarked on what was my 18th birthday.

Looks like yours may be the “father” which is a negative — judging from the reversed stamping relating it to Capital— mine is a “mother” stamper which can be played — don’t play yours — the earth will explode !!

 

If that's the case we better not let them get together... er, Come Together!
