I'd've gotten this just for its being a label sheet. But the colors, from what I could recall, was a way overprinted PMS 199 Red and PMS 136 Orange (the latter in such a way it almost looks like an underprinted PMS 151).

That's it... knew I saw it somewhere not so long ago.
Those type ornamental paperweights, or whatever... are the primo, killer-diller, pieces.
Much rather have that red apple myself. Got a personal Ringo thingy I'll get to eventually that blows that away...

2491 was the number signifying the sheets for this red/orange "ring around" label design.

I have a promo "cloud nine" pin. George Harrison had several made and gave them to everyone who worked on the album. He gave one to his sister's grandson who in turn gave it to me. So mine actually was handed out from the man himself.

The typefaces, plus the publisher name, plus the XTV matrix number, point this to late 1969.

I also prefer the red apple. Can't wait to see the Ringo thingy... Was it in the Help! movie that The Beatles used the word "thingy"?

You are aware they took the CMYK films for the 45 labels and blew 'em up to about 116.5% of its original size for the LP's, don'tcha? I measured . . .

I didn't know how to post on this site but someone was saying if I post it elsewhere first I can post it here. I haven't tried it yet but tomorrow I will see if I can figure out how. I'm not very techy.

With all due respect, whoever said "1967," was full of it. Yes, it's a test pressing, or more specifically a special promo-only issue, by Columbia's Pitman, NJ plant, on that we're in agreement. I actually have some acetates, and no way does that look like one. A few things:
    - The XTV 221567 matrix number dates it to the latter part of 1969.
    - As of 1967, the publisher of record of Dylan's pre-1965 catalogue was still M. Witmark & Sons, not becoming Warner Bros.-7 Arts Music (or Warner-Sevarts) until '68. (It became Warner Bros. Music, or WB Music, in 1970.)
    - The tracks listed below the spindle hole were set in 7 point Trade Gothic Bold - a font which was first used by the Pitman plant's print shop in the latter part of November, 1968.

George Harrison & Friends - "The Concert For Bangla Desh"
U.S. Capitol Records RARE factory sealed example of the withdrawn, unreleased
two-LP set. The album set used microgroove technology where the three-record set
was put onto two LP's. No box set, this was to be released as a 2 x LP gatefold.
Nearly all were destroyed .. of those that survived had a promo hole, or cut-out notch.
This seldom seen sealed rarity has no markings whatsoever .. abandoned due to legal issues.

  19. Thank you again to everyone who has posted such fantastic stuff.

A simple question regarding Crimson and Fripp, which I hope isn't off-topic.

I have both heard and read that Fripp has been/was/is usually reluctant to engage with fans and does not like signing memorabilia, discs etc., yet ... there are many examples in this thread (and a couple of other threads too)

So ... those of you with signed items, did you just get lucky or ... are the statements of Fripp being a distant and stand-offish person inaccurate?

    Best Wishes,
    David

    Hi David,
Thank you once again for your kind words.
I have had the opportunity of meeting Fripp numerous times over the past several decades.
Because KC is in my top three (Beatles / Dylan).. I have followed them all over, when able.
He is not known for his outgoing social skills.. yet that really is not a fair statement at all.
No one wants to be hassled, and/or treated like an object.. including your signature.
He is a purest and hates photography, believing it ruins the act of music, and drastically impedes
the performance. He has personally come out pre-show to welcome the Royal package groups
this current tour. Once at a NYC show I saw him sign about 20+ items for a single guy .. this was
back in 1992. Sounds like a complete fabrication of the truth .. but he was directly in front of me.

Just to follow up on this. I have posted this story a few times before but I will repeat it again. I met Fripp at the Virgin Music Store when he visited Dublin in 1997 to do a short soundscapes performance. He stayed behind after the performance to sign material for fans. There were very few people at the performance and fewer still (maybe seven) who stayed behind to get stuff signed. Fripp happily signed everything I gave him and did a number of doodles as well. We also had a nice chat. He could not have been nicer.

Almost 20 years later, I waited for the band at the stage door after one of the performances in Aylesbury (September 2016). Each band member happily signed my programme but there was no sign of Mr. Fripp. I respect his wishes not to engage with fans. I think Bill Reiflin has the same attitude.
