Interesting what (I'm assuming) the men on this forum think is beautiful and exotic. I'm guessing our wives would think just the opposite, as in GET THAT THING OUT OF THIS HOUSE!

Some of the more obnoxious stuff for sure but if you do it right, the warm glow of tubes looks a bit like candle light. It certainly an easier sell than 100lb speakers.

Thinking back to some of your previous avatars I won't argue your point.... :) in fact I agree.

I bought home a pair of NS-2000 speakers three days ago from my week long trip to Cali ---- and man are those things beautiful... the walnut, the 13 inch beryllium woofer. (you'd think 13inches alone would impress....:hide:)

So today I said "I think I am going to run these with the grills off, man those are beautiful". She said "put the cover on those, they are ugly, they look broken without the cover, like something is missing!"

    You nailed it!

Funny thing she says the same thing when I am in a swim suit these days too... go figure.

I read this after my post above, ironically the speakers I am referring weigh 103 lbs.

Which also ironically my wife weighs 105 lbs... she must have been jealous.....

There must be some somewhere (most likely in Japan).

No, but it was not for the want of trying!
