Listening to Ashes & Fire by Ryan Adams and was blown away how well recorded the acoustic guitars were captured. What other albums/songs do you find the best sounding acoustic guitar?

Some examples that come to my mind: John Fahey guitar on America, Frank Zappa solo on the track "Sleep Dirt", and American Beauty, by the Grateful Dead.

Summer Breeze on my Superstars of the 70s album sounds awfully nice, almost like it should be on a Steely Dan record.

I always loved "Embyonic Journey" Jefferson Airplane.

I also like "Two of Us" and "I've Just Seen a Face" by the Beatles. But those just come to mind there are so many more.

So Far by CSNY as a song on it, Find The Cost Of Freedom, that has the most beautiful "singing" acoustic guitar going on in the left channel. That had to be a pre war dreadnought.

On David Bowie's Hunky Dory there's an acoustic break that just blows me away.

The Indigo Girls debut album has great guitars.

I don't know if I'd call it the "most beautifully recorded", but Leo Kottke's 6 and 12 String Guitar is awesome sounding. So much energy on that recording you could swear the wood of the guitar is cracking open!

Nick Drake's Pink Moon, particularly the title track, Place to Be, Which Will, and Horn.

America's debut album, gotta love that little run before the vocals kick in on Riverside.

This Flight Tonight on Joni's Blue.

Blackbird is an obvious one, but someone's gotta mention it, right?

I always had a fondness for Nancy's acoustic guitar intro on Heart's Crazy on You.

They're not necessarily the most beautiful, but I've always loved the way the Kinks' acoustic guitars sound.
