For a lot of people they are the first taste of Beatles on vinyl. And they are packaged/sold/distributed differently. They seem like reissues to me.

For me,as of now(subject to change:)) the Metallica Master of Puppets Deluxe Edition will most likely be my favorite reissue/archive thingy of 2017.
Since there is no: Van Halen Archives,Zeppelin Japan 1971,Iron Maiden Japan`81 Beast`82 among others.....:-plnktn-:
Maybe The Doors and Hendrix will leak a couple unreleased songs in 2066!
You guys will dig me up,I hope!:targettiphat:

So far the 29cd Golden Earring complete studio collection has been by far the best reissue of 2017

Just noticed that the names on my list are giving no indication if this is a reissue or new album because all artists have been around for some time. Does this mean I'm getting old?

    GAS: "Narcopop"

Iron Maiden: vinyl reissues starting next Friday

    Swans: "Great Annihilator"

    Slowdive: s/t

    Afghan Whigs: "In Spades"

    Goldfrapp: "Silver Eye"

Iggy Pop: "Live At The Royal Albert Hall"

Jesus & Mary Chain: "Damage & Joy"

    Mastodon: "Emperor Of Sand"

    Bowie: "Cracked Actor"

Cocteau Twins: "4 Calendar Café" & "Milk & Kisses"

    Depeche Mode: "Spirit"

Poor and neglected Kraftwerk. Even Lloyd Cole gets a spot on the poll before them.

I haven't got them but apparently they're the 2009 remasters and they sound really great :)

If Hitchhiker is released there's no question that would be the greatest collection of unheard music in a long time. Truly great unreleased music from at the peak of his most prolific period. Imagine Bob having another album as good as Blood On The Tracks but keeping it in the can.

I realize they're distributed and sold differently; but how are the LP's themselves and album any covers any different? ? If these were truly re-issues it would imply remastering. Do the album covers and record labels indicate that these were mastered beyond 2009?

Okay...so they are *not* re-issues. Simply the same as the 2012's only with DeAgostini packaging. Thanks.
