What do you think are the most obnoxious TV show theme songs? I think this one takes the cake:
that horrible song "container' by fiona apple that opens 'the affair'.
we DVR it just so we can fast forward through it and not have to hear it.
That is truly horrendous. Thank you.
I can't compete with that awful thing, but one theme I always found induced suicidal tendencies was always
Sons and Daughters 1982 Theme
or this WKRP in Cincinnati Theme
I don't know if it was tongue-in-cheek, but if it wasn't there should be no forgiveness.
I actually like this song.
This thread reminds me of the running joke on Married With Children about the Facts of Life theme song.
And I thought I was the only guy to remember this since I was born in Passaic! Bill Murray actually used it to much better effect in Meatballs.
If Charlotte Rae isn't singing the Facts of Life theme, I'm not on board.
My brother does a spot-on impression.
Maybe this is why a whole bunch of shows don't have themes any more but more like snippets that don't quite develop into musical passages before they end.
That one from Friends....also the theme from Australian soap Neighbours.
Any of the ones where they have to explain the High Concept of the show. Like, for example, "Arrested Development".
This worked for "Gilligan's Island", "Beverly Hillbillies" and "Green Acres", but I think those are the only ones.
Or this blink-and-you'll-miss-it:
Makes Modern Family seem like Gilligan's Island
...and "The Brady Bunch" and "The Odd Couple".
I think "The Odd Couple" is a classic. "The Brady Bunch" theme--the original, with the kids singing, is awful.
I've always hated the cloying themes song for "Cheers."
Shahs of Sunset--autotuned and really awful.
You beat me to it!
I like this one...perhaps there's something wrong with me...
Neal Hefti rules ffs
Mind you, we're all dissing TV themes that had indelible melodies.
Not my original one...
