I prefer, largely pre-1970 themes. And open titles (includes cartoons)
That was hella long. I remember liking the show. I think I was 8.
The Facts Of Life theme song with Charlotte Rae
If children’s shows count—“The Backyardigans.”
Oh man I HATE this song!!!!!
That's a classic written by Alan Thicke along with Different Strokes.
And "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons"?
UK or US?
The US program was quite good for a kids program, with the super-tuned singing being the unique selling point (auto-tune in this context worked somehow).
For the UK version they must have decided it would be better with realistic, out of tune singing...
The result was that it was a totally different show!
The British sitcom Take a Letter, Mr. Jones (which starred John Inman of Are You Being Served? fame) had an extremely irritating theme song: http://home.hiwaay.net/~emilyj/audio/mrjones.mp3 .
I loved The State but always found the theme song really annoying
Green Acres is classic for Tommy Tedesco's guitar alone!
I hate to admit it but I would probably pay for the incidental music to the Brady Bunch (maybe Bear Family can help me out----hahahahahahaha).
I'm annoyed that I can't tell you how the Saturday Night Live theme song goes. I've watched nearly every episode for the last 40+ plus years and am always particularly enthralled by the opening credits. I love how hard the band is playing, and I admire that it is always played live. Lenny Pickett is always wailing impressively on the saxophone, the band just kills. The music is so idiosyncratic that I can immediately recognize when another band is playing SNL-like. It's virtually a genre onto itself, and still I can not for the life of me hum out the melody.
This was the later theme for ABC Television's "Thank Your Lucky Stars"
"Lunar Walk" - The Johnny Hawksworth Orchestra

If children's shows count, then they should legitimately make up most of the spots on any list of the most obnoxious TV show theme songs.
Some of my kids' favourite TV shows have some pretty irritating songs. Especially when you hear them multiple times a day.
Another one of my kids' favourites, this song is even worse than the Paw Patrol theme I just posted:
Sung by the show’s “star” - David Naughton
I love Max and Ruby!
Well, the 35-second edit that actually opens the show is classic to me. Kind of a perfect distillation of a backstory, I was just musing night before last watching a KRP episode (good ol' MeTV ; )
But, yeah, this 3-minute version's a snore 'n a half....
