    Nightcrawler.

Obvious I know, but I love the LA night style portrayed in the film.

Obviously vampire films are set during the night. The Iranian film A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night is mostly set in moody black and white night time.

Also love the night scenes in Donnie Darko and It Follows.

  19. Would "The X-Files" movie work?

In most of the scenes they seem to have lit the stage with a single 15 watt bulb, and when things get really bright they turn on the extra 40 watt bulb.

Fun fact - there isn't a single shot of blue sky in Blade Runner until the very end. I had to watch it a half dozen times for a class and I managed picked out that detail. Kinda neat.
