I never thought I'd see Psychomania (or The Death Wheelers) on BD, but Arrow released a nice version last year; it's the best the movie has ever looked. I've had several home video releases of this and Nicky Henson has seemed increasingly happy in each new home video interview.
I'd like to see Equinox on BD, but the Criterion DVD set is very good with 2 versions of the film.

The Arrow release is no slouch, but the BFI Region B BD, which came out six months earlier, tops it. The transfer is the same, and it has all the same extras as the Arrow, plus several more.

I have been tempted by their Ozu films. A BFI release I really appreciated was Al Pacino in Revolution. Their director's cut was far better than what was released before.

I have all of those. Shame their Ozu reissue programme ground to a halt. Don’t think they were big sellers.

Not a great movie by any means but I wonder why the 1998 version of Great Expectations with Ethan Hawke, Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert De Niro has never come out on Bluray.

Well, the current BluRay is "The Final Cut" which is the cut prepared for the 1979 reissue. (Also, the same version aired on Alex Cox's Moviedrome show back in the 80s.)

The only scenes missing from the 99 cut are Sgt. Howie's arrival and the scene at the police station; otherwise, it's all there and in the right order, albeit trimmed a bit.

  12. Fred Zinneman's excellent The Day Of The Jackal will finally be released next month. The crappy remake with Bruce Willis has been on Blu-ray for eight years!

I foolishly got the Criterion before I noticed that the Noriko Trilogy wasn't finished. I'll re-buy eventually. Shame that BFI stopped, but at least they released all they did!

I actually saw this in the theater. I was probably 11 or 12 when I saw it. I will eventually pick it up for bad movie nostalgia.

While having McDonald’s of course (very meta, but why not?). ;)

I have always liked this movie and would love it to have it on BD.

I've been a Diane Baker fan for awhile now and read a lot about the 1964 movie The Ghost of Sierra de Cobre, but never thought it'd ever be released. However, Kino Lorber is putting it out on Blu-ray (and DVD) on October 16th:

Like the poster illustration of Heston being held captive by the ape. Too bad that didn't make that the cover of the 2018 blu ray Steelbook.

It's been out over a year in the UK on Arrow.

  20. I'm aware, but it's Region B locked, it doesn't do me any good.
