    The original Star Wars trilogy
    Blade Runner
    Back to the Future
    The 4 Alien movies
    Army of Darkness
    The Fly
    After Hours

These are the movies I've seen the most and I've never gotten sick of them.

  4. Sounds exactly like what the writer/director did with those films *shudder*. No planning. No digesting ideas. No percolating. Nothing. Just silly, boring ideas to show off new tech. (sounds like the new Hobbit movies). I'm no Star Wars fan but I wish you all luck with this new round of films. Hopefully for you all the new ones will be worthy to end up in this thread.

Groundhog Day? Viewing that over again makes no sense .

'The Remains Of The Day' - it never gets old...But that's only one. And I echo 'Lost In Translation'.

The 14 Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes films.
They were made in the 1940s(and 1939) and in black and white, but I never get tired of them.
I've seen them more times than I can count.

With my granddaughter visiting several times a week, my most watched movie will soon be "Frozen." We have a core collection of all the Disney classics, and I watch them regularly, but I can't even get her to switch to The Little Mermaid for a break.:)

    Jonah Hex
This has to be my favourite DC film.
Visually stunning. A bit more adult than Marvel standards. A remorseless bounty hunter seeking revenge. Too bad it didn't do well at the box office. Worth repeat viewing.

Must have seen it over 100 times.
    Oblivion 50 +
And to many more to actually count, most movies I watch more than once as there is always stuff you miss on the first viewing..

I have a few thousand disc and they have all been viewed at least twice. Some, many more times. I rarely go to the theater unless it warrants a "BIG SCREEN" due to inconvenience/cost /noise.

Apocalypse Now - I haven't watched in a while but I've seen it a good few times. The last few times it was the redux edition, next time I might go back to the original cut.

    Being There

    The Blues Brothers

    Casino

    Clerks

Fubar 1 & 2. - The first one is great to watch around Canada Day and the second one is a great Christmas movie.

Goodfellas - My favorite movie of all time. I never get tired of it.

    Network

Reno 911: Miami - I bought two editions to have all three cuts of the film, standard, unrated and the lost version made up of outtakes and alternate takes.

    The Shining

    Stripes

This is Spinal Tap - This is the only time I actually wore out a DVD and had to get a replacement copy.

Tommy the Movie - Typically I just watch certain scenes these days but I used to watch the whole thing a lot.

Wayne's World - I saw it numerous times when I was in my early teens. A while back I found a used copy of the Wayne's World 1 & 2 DVD set for $5. I couldn't resist it at that price.

Every Christmas I usually watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Grumpy Old Men and Cooper's Camera. Samantha Bee is excellent in Cooper's Camera.

Some movies I've seen multiple times at the theatre and/or Drive-in (off the top of my head.)

    Original Star Wars Trilogy
Star Wars Prequels (even though they sucked compared to Original Trilogy, I felt compelled to see them multiple times in theatre. I felt kind of like Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons wanting to see Cosmic Wars: The Gathering Shadow multiple times after declaring it the worst one ever. LOL!)
Buck Rogers In The 25th Century (Nothing better than a teenage boy wanting to see Erin Gray in tight spandex...Actually this was the pilot of the TV series that was released to theatres months before the TV series began.)
Goodfellas (One of my favorites too.)
Once Upon A Time In America
    The Untouchables
    Dances With Wolves
    Stargate (Top 5 all-time favorite.)
    Escape From New York
    Iron Man
Iron Man 2 (only reason is because I wanted to see how it looked in IMAX after seeing it first on a regular screen.)
    Avatar (ditto...IMAX 3D)
    Vacation
    Christmas Vacation
    Blues Brothers
    Stripes
Ghostbusters (30th anniversary this year....hard to believe. It was the year I graduated from HS and went off to college.)
    Rocky II
    Rocky III
    The Terminator
Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (all 3 multiple times in the theatre.)
    Raiders Of The Lost Ark
    E.T.
    Interview With The Vampire
    Pulp Fiction
    The Fisher King
    Good Morning Vietnam
    Platoon
Top Gun (only because my girlfriend at the time "loved" both Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer and she wanted to see the movie multiple times. Though, I admit, I liked the movie too and saw it so many times that I practically memorized every line in the movie and used to be able to quote any line at will.)
    Major League
The Longest Yard (Original one. Saw it as a kid at theatre and then multiple times at drive-in in 2nd runs.)
The Breakfast Club (my favorite Brat pack movie.)

Also, some of the original Planet of The Apes movies I saw multiple times at the drive-in as a kid (I would've been too young to have seen the first few at the theatre.) Every summer, for a few years in a row, the local drive-in would have Planet of the Apes marathons and we would go every year because my Dad loved them and liked going to the drive-in more than a Cinema.

Now, if we count movies watched multiple times, including DVD, VHS, and/or on TV or cable, then my list would grow exponentially (almost.) But I have to mention, hands down, that the movie I've seen the most ever is The Ten Commandments (Have it on DVD, VHS, and watch it every Easter on TV.) Probably my favorite movie of all time.

Honorable mention is The Wizard Of Oz (same reason as above.)

RONIN, SINGING IN THE RAIN, ANCHORMAN, THE STING - they're the ones I can sit through all the way. THE STING is a comfort film that happens to be a great example of both a fine script and marvellously entertaining ensemble work, mixing comedy and drama (which I find very impressive). Others may agree with me that you have to leave a gap in between watching comedies so you can forget the jokes. I believe this happens more naturally once you reach 85 years old. Sometimes I find I only like parts of films - if you've ever seen the film HIS KIND OF WOMAN, you'll know what I mean (the ending goes on forever) and I happen to love it. If you haven't, see it - there's no other film like it.

My viewing habits of movies started at home with VHS in the early 90's: never was much of a cinema guy. I remember being very happy with receiving the BBC channels in europe in the early 90's, because at that time it was very hard to find original aspect ratio, non-subtitled versions of movies in the shops in the Netherlands. A couple of BBC movie series like Moviedrome (with Alex Cox curating) were my regular saturday/sunday night fixture for obtaining movies that I watched again and again once I got a good taping. And when dvd came around I was in 7th heaven: original aspect ratio's and soundtracks, widescreen tv's, great extras. As I'm looking at my Panasonic 55 inch plasma and my blu-ray collection, viewing movies at home has come a a long way in 20 years.

So going by memory, in descending order of most viewed, these 50 I can vouch for:

    The French Connection
    Annie Hall
    Alien
    Blade Runner
    Taxi Driver
    Jaws
    Badlands
    Chinatown
    This Is Spinal Tap
    Manhattan
    The Thin Red Line
    Days of Heaven
    2001: A Space Odyssey
    Get Carter
    All The President's Men
Monty Python And The Holy Grail
    Grosse Pointe Blank
    Fargo
The Godfather / The Godfather Part II
    The Parallax View
    JFK
    Rushmore
    Monty Python’s Life Of Brian
    The Conversation
    The Bourne Identity
    The Terminator
    T2 Judgment Day
    Aliens
    Boogie Nights
    Ghost World
    L'emploi du temps
    Silence Of The Lambs
    McCabe & Mrs. Miller
    The Long Goodbye
    No Country For Old Men
    High Fidelity
    Trois Couleurs Rouge
Soldaat Van Oranje /Soldier of Orange
    Brazil
    Nixon
    Reservoir Dogs
    Hana-Bi
    Se7en
    Local Hero
    The Shining
    The Thing
    Day of the Jackal
    Out Of Sight
    Five Easy Pieces
    Die Hard
