My favorite edition is the 1000 Maniacs session, every song performed a stone cold classic and executed flawlessly. I also liked McCartney, Young, REM and Nirvana, but its 10000 Maniacs for me.

Stevie's name didn't appear in the Wikipedia Unplugged list. That was a collaboration of guitarists doing an unplugged show together, wasn't it? I never saw it.

The only one on the list I own is Alice In Chains. I also have the Annie Lennox which I love.

  8. Been a longggggg time since I saw it but The Cure, not listed above, were excellent on their visit.

Not to threadcap but I thought 10,ooo Maniacs cover of Because the Night was pretty anemic in the vocals department.

I liked McCartney and Nirvana's sets best.

He split the show with Joe Satriani. He played 3 songs solo on a 12 string while sitting on a stool. Doesn't get any more unplugged than that!

There were probably hundreds, but I can't fit everybody into the poll. I just posted the ones listed in Wikipedia.

I liked that one too. The performance of "Jackie Brown" was great. I found it much more poignant that the faster album version. The Allman Brothers Unplugged was also very good.

Can't say I've heard all on the list but I listen to Nirvana's set most often... great album.

You say Unplugged, I think Nirvana playing The Man Who Sold The World. Nuff said.

To me, McCartney and The Eagles(Hell Freezes Over?) are a dead heat. Clapton isn't far behind.

I was so surprised by how great they sounded that I voted for Kiss. They really sounded fantastic; that is, until the subpar Criss and Frehley joined them. I thought they really showcased some of their songs well and was surprised by how well they translated to acoustic. Sadly the best tune (IMO) they played was not included on the official release.......Got To Choose.
