I have purchased several items from them (usually closeout or demo) and have had no problems with them at all. Good company.

Why not just give Roy at Green Mountain Audio in the Springs a call? They make far better speakers than anything Music Direct has to offer, in my opinion.
    (719) 636-2500 is the number.

It is strange that Music Direct sells all this ultra high end equipment but relatively cheap speakers.

They really are great folks, a pleasure to do business with.

I had no idea 5K was "cheap" for speakers.

I've ordered from Music Direct many times including an expensive phono amp & cartridge. Nothing but great service in my experience. Highly recommended.

In comparison to $5000 for a power conditioner they sell, it is.

So what are getting, PMC or Harbeth?

  10. They sell stuff from "ultra high end" level all the way to budget level. It's not strange that they have a very wide selection. They are an internet retailer and want to appeal to the broadest market possible.

  11. Music Direct also sells power conditioners for under $200, and in comparison to those, a $5000 speaker is quite expensive.

I assume you're getting the closeout deal on Focal speakers, which is a good choice. If it's something else, though, there are lots of manufacturers and dealers in the Boulder/Denver/Springs area who would probably serve you better, IMHO.

Music Direct is solid. Took back a defective cart, no questions asked. I wouldn't hesitate to buy $5k speakers from them

Before spending $5000 for speakers by mail, I hope you've heard them and have also tried out alternatives locally. Even with Music Direct's good return policy, I would be reluctant to buy speakers by mail unless I was already familiar with them.

I'm surprised you don't seem to get the point I was making. They sell the one of the highest quality (and high priced) power conditioner brands in Running Springs Audio and yet do not sell particularly high priced loudspeakers. I think I understand the reasons they don't, and have no argument with that.

Love 'em. Baught a VPI 16.5 and they gave me a bottle of the Mo-Fi record deep clean with it. Recently purchased some Aq speaker cable and they terminated it for free. First class all the way.

They have given me good service. They did ship a dead cartridge to me once, but they replaced it quickly and with no fuss.

I purchased my Wadia i170 and many records from them over the years. I'm a satisfied customer.

  20. Only good experiences with them, would not hesitate to spend 5k with them.

Have not made a purcgase that big, but overall they have been excellent.

Elusive Disc in my personal opinion-- has the best CS and get back or call you if any issues. But MD i have no doubt would do the same with a purchase of that amount.

    100% positive experiences here.

I've found them to be the best of the "big" online dealers and they will discount if you ask. Sometimes they will discount without even asking.
