Kenny Drew Undercurrent. One I rarely see mentioned, maybe since it came out so early in the series.

    It's brilliant.

'Matador' has to be in any list. The improvement in sound on that one was incredible.

Musicdirect has some of these 45rpm titles discounted to $39.99 with an additional 10% off Labor Day sale code that seems applicable - so about $36.00!

I'm listening to my 45 RPM Music Matters version of Speak No Evil for the first time. Great remastering. Even Herbie's piano sounds great, not typical for a RVG recording.

For most of the record, Freddie is far left and Wayne farright. On the second to last track, "Infant Eyes", Freddie sits out and Wayne moves to far left. On the final track, "Wild Flower", Wayne stays left and Freddie is on the right.

I haven't read the last 10 or so pages -- but has anyone received any MM releases of late? My last package was around 24 May 2012.

    Maybe I'll call 'em tomorrow.

I'd love to hear some comments regarding the sound of "Empyrean Isles".

Superb. Everything from MM is superb. No need to even ask, just buy it.

Yes, and it's also that way during Dance Cadaverous.

And, IMO, the three tracks with Wayne on the left sound better than the tracks with him on the right. I'd been meaning to post that and your post reminded me of it...

I do have to admit that I'm actually referring to the 192/24 download from HDTracks. IMO, it sounds out of this world! Some things really jumped out at me as being much more present than I've ever heard, especially Carter's bass. HUGE sound!

I'll get the MM lp eventually. :)

P.S. Welcome to the forum, G-Man!

Good choice , but I would like to see Hank Mobley's Dippin as well. But to be honest there are still tens of blue note records that could use a Musicmatters treatment....
Musicmatters is really out of this world amazing stuff ! I'm glad I have every album (and some spares as well...)

I played the japanese record yesterday and I thought it could use the MM treatment. But indeed analogue productions released the 45rpm version a few years ago. Thanks Atane to remind me… but I hate the ridiculous covers for the same 50$ …

Indeed, it's very hard to go back to those flimsy jackets after having a taste of the glorious Music Matters gatefolds :)

But the sound (mastering) is superb on those AP 45's :righton:

That picture looks like it was taken at Acoustic Sounds, in their front hallway.

Unless Acoustic Sounds is in my house, then nope. I sure wish I lived in the Acoustic Sounds warehouse though.
