Actually I am suspicious, In 45 years I never saw a single pic of Marc Bolan wearing a leather jacket, yet you managed to find one five minutes after me saying so...

It occurs to me that some of these "cool" people may in fast be cool - like room temperature. As in the undead, which is not completely unexpected at a Goth show. And of course anyone "cool" enough to pull off wearing a full leather suit is not going to do anything so uncool as to answer questions from a bunch of people on a music discussion forum.

Hard to believe this thread "jumped the shark" on only the second page.

I'm pretty sure that is a pleather jacket.

 

No trickery or photoshopping on my behalf, I honestly don't have the nous for that sort of stuff. I just typed Marc Bolan leather into the search engine and then clicked images. It's the only leather clad Bolan pic that came up so not surprising you've never come across any. No idea when it was taken though sorry.Here's the link, hope it works.

The Rolling Stones at Roundhay Park Leeds 1982 was a super show but J. Geils, the support act, were actually just as good! When they first hit the stage Peter Wolf was wearing a white leather motorcycle jacket and I thought this was so cool. After a couple of songs he took it off and slammed it down onto the stage dramatically.

As a biker, I shortly afterward went out and bought my own White Leather Jacket!! It got dirty and scuffed pretty quickly though; not so cool!
