Aside from the fact that you're wrong (look at the hole for the neck, the edge clearly indicates this was meant to be a poncho), you've invalidated your opinion by posting that non-poncho pic of KB.

 

If you take that off of him, and lay it on the ground, it is clearly a rug. You don't wash or dry clean that one, you vacuum it.
