Lindsey Buckingham plays guitar on Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs' cover of Second Hand News.

 

Cliff Richard features in The Young Ones' cover of Living Doll.

 

Kirsty MacColl sang backing vocals on Tracy Ullman's cover of They Don't Know.

 

Kiss on Anthrax's cover of Love Her All I Can.

 

Michael Bruce from Alice Cooper played on Antiseen's cover of one of their songs, but I can't remember what song they covered!

 

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry on Run-D.M.C.'s cover of "Walk This Way".

The Proclaimers appeared in the video of the Peter Kay/Matt Lucas cover of 500 Miles that was done for Comic Relief.

To make it more unusual I think the cover featured the original backing track with new vocals on the song (apart from the end chorus which was left as the original vocals also).

 

Pete Townshend sings backing vocals on The Ramones's cover of "Substitute" (it's on their "Acid Eaters" album).

 

Gary Numan did some vocals on Fear Factory's metallicized cover of "Cars".
