I'l do my best but some of you, better equipped and with a more discerning ear, will do a much better job. To my ears this sounds well nigh perfect - a roiling seething cauldron swirling with melody, teetering on the edge.

Don't try to pump me for more analysis or A/B comparisons - you'll just have to wait for those better able. For now, I'm enjoying listening to this.

I really hope more of these start to arrive soon, I'm looking forward to your own impressions.

If I could add another first impression - if I understand correctly these track transitions were all redone in the analogue domain. To these ears, sound prefect, seamless.

Mine just arrived, I'm in London UK. I ordered both. Packaging was excellent.
Both releases come in heavy duty gatefold card sleeves. Lined picture inners. Will not have a chance to play till about Wednesday.
I am confused about something though. I received a third record. Its another copy of Isn't Anything, just in a plain white sleeve.
I've got no idea what that is about.

Just examined the run outs on the 2 copies of Isn't Anything and they are 2 different cuts. Totally confused.

I just received the same. Wondering if it’s an Abbey Road test pressing before they changed to Alchemy? That would be a cool collectable!

Is one Alchemy and the other Abbey Road?

Would be cool to see which one you prefer...

Agree it will be hard to top but I am optimistic.

Just put on my original Creation Isn't Anything. What a powerful sounding record. It almost has an impact like an RL LZII. Obviously Loveless gets the headlines, but I think IA is going to be something special.

Got mine. The mysterious extra 'Isn't Anything' was a pleasant surprise. It's simply marked as (+ FREE VINYL) on the delivery note and comes in a plain card inner. Proper label. It must just be an alternate cut. Maybe Kevin couldn't make his mind up.

Will listen tonight, loud, in the dark, after heavy alcohol consumption as it should be. I have no first pressings to compare to sadly. I've held off spending the big bucks for a couple of years waiting for these.

I’ve heard the extra copy of IA is a digital remaster...

I saw the latest issue of Uncut with a big feature of the band. Regarding the white label of Isn't Anything, Kevin said they did hundreds of test pressings of the record, and these are now being given away with some orders.

From the Rolling Stone article from November:
“The final hurtle this time was in physical production. He found that manufacturers each had unique sounds. "If you go to a French manufacturer, it's gonna come across a lot softer sounding and warmer than if you go to a British manufacturer, where it's gonna come across a lot more high end," he says. They eventually settled on a German facility because it was the most accurate. Throughout the process he went through various test pressings and later realized that full runs also sounded different, so they began doing short runs of 100. "We literally have a few thousand records lying around," he says. "All experiments and failures."”
Someone will have to check the deadwax but it may be just from a different pressing plant rather than alternate cut. I also wonder if some people will get Loveless in the same manner, and if there’s any correlation to when you ordered the records.
EDIT: Read above that somebody already determined they’re different, whoops

Just getting stuck in now. Ordered the bundle and got the surprise test pressing of IA

The IA gatefold is lovely. My pic looks very lo-res in comparison to the real thing, about 1000% better in the flesh so to speak
