Looks good, and you have a lot of other great interviews listed there too. I'll delve into them all as time allows. Thanks.

Trying to build a decent library. I should have hyped all the Beatles talk we do. This forum is like beatles central. In a good way.

Small world. I just saw a link to this somewhere else last night and subscribed to the High and Low podcast. Haven't heard it yet but looking forward to it.

Yale Press asked me to share this cool video about the book with our reader/listeners. I figured it might interest folks here too.

Starting to listen to the interview, from a brief review I understand the 10 songs are

Shake Some Action by the Flamin' Groovies
    Transmission by Joy Division
In the Still of the Nite by Fred Parris and the Satins
All I Could Do Was Cry by Etta James and Beyonce
Crying, Waiting, Hoping by Buddy Holly
Money (That's What I Want) by Berry Gordy
Money Changes Everything by Tom Gray
This Magic Moment by Lou Reed
    Guitar Drag by Christian Marclay
To Know Him Is to Love Him by the Teddy Bears

Those are the songs, but he talks about various versions of them, not just the single artist.

Just picked up this book, which somehow escaped my radar... just started the book but what insightful lyrical writing (as usual). Will also check out the OP's interview, which ought to be interesting. Not many rock writers (what an archaic term that seems today!) like Marcus.

If you like Marcus I also interviewed him on his book on the Doors, he's one of the greats
