Rules are simple, name your top 5 vampire movies. (Try to resist naming more than 5.) These should be your personal 5 favorites. Mine are (in no order): 1. Fright Night (original) 2. Let the Right One In 3. Horror of Dracula 4. Bram Stoker’s Dracula 5. The Night Stalker
Alphabetically: Daughters of Darkness (1971) The Hunger (1983) The Last Man on Earth (1964) Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922) Thirst (1979)
Dracula (w/Bela Lugosi) The Hunger Let The Right One In (original) Near Dark The Addiction (w/Lili Taylor, directed by Abel Ferrara, well worth seeking out) Let The Right One In is an amazing movie in it's original Swedish version. I saw a theater production of it at St. Ann's Warehouse about 5 years back that actually outdid the movie. Never thought you could make a jump scare work on stage but that audience was screaming.
Chronologically: Nosferatu Universal Studios Spanish language Dracula Vampyr Kiss of Evil Daughters of Darkness

The horror of Dracula,- Christopher Lee Dracula Prince of Darkness, -Christopher Lee Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, -Christopher Lee The Satanic Rites Of Dracula.- Christopher Lee Dracula- 2020- Claes Bang
Nosferatu 1922 The Fearless Vampire Killers 1967 The Hunger 1983 Bram Stoker's Dracula 1992 Intervew With the Vampire 1994
There can never be enough great vampire movies. Vampyr (1932) Dracula (1931) The Lost Boys (1987) The Last Man On Earth (1964) Fright Night (1985)
Let the Right One In (original) is brilliant. I guess Bram Stoker's Dracula isn't a favorite around here? Byzantium stars Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton. I need to see some of the older films.
Near Dark A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night Nosferatu The Vampyre (1979) Martin Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
What a colossal waste of a huge budget and a good (and some bad) cast. Frankly, the result just pisses me off - I can't help thinking what could have been.
It is sort of a masterpiece. So. Maybe it is you? The opening alone is sublime. How did they get that look and feel on film?!
I always felt Dracula Has Risen From The Grave was vastly underrated. It’s my second favorite Christopher Lee Dracula movie. It’s a shame Lee wasn’t in Hammer’s Brides of Dracula. That almost made my top 5.
As much as I love Christopher in the role, (I still consider him the ultimate screen Dracula), I'm actually glad he turned it down that time. David Peel as Baron Meinster was incredible, Cushing was great, (as always), the screenplay is superb, & Terence Fisher turns in one of his best directing jobs. A minor masterpiece perhaps, but certainly a masterpiece. It nearly made my Top Five as well.
