I know I've got a few, but not all, of the Walsh CDs:
    •Sings for Two in Love
    •Love Is the Thing
    •The Very Thought of You
•Cole Espanol and more, Vol. 1
•Cole Espanol and more, Vol. 2
•Jumpin' at Capitol (Rhino Records, co-credited with Bill Inglot)
    •The Billy May Sessions
•Nat King Cole Sings/George Shearing Plays
    •The Nat King Cole Story

I suspect that "Unforgettable" is his, too, although it's uncredited.

Didn't he also do the 4-CD box from the late 80s?

Thanks Matt. What's your impression of the mastering quality for these titles?

Boy....some of these I probably have not played in literally 25 years! I seem to recall that Love is the Thing was kind of soupy, but the others were basically fine. Sorry that I can't recall much else more without really spending time with them anew.

    Somebody else?

My recollection of this CD's release is that it was available new for an insanely short time, so I was surprised to spot this sealed copy on Ebay that apparently reached "cutout" status. (The cutout notch is visible at upper left.)

Was "I Envy" ever released on LP? I stumbled upon this on Ebay:

Was this issued with two different covers? Both are listed as being on the Hep label.

If memory serves, the one on the left is what was initially used on Amazon and elsewhere, but not issued as such. When a photograph from the actual concert was located, it was switched out.

I finally was able to buy one of these today, online! :pineapple: If it's like the Sinatra release in the same series, it will contain unique stereo mixes (never on LP or CD), in very good sound. Hopefully it's in good shape.

I've got a release date of April 13, 1959, in case you care about such things.

I recall @.crystalised. bringing this up before - maybe others have, too. The song Jumpin' at Capitol has been released in a speeded-up version many times. The Mosaic boxed set even makes mention of this in the liner notes. In the Mosaic box, it does run slower than on the speeded-up versions, but it still runs about 60 cents fast, which still markedly fast, just a little less so. (50 cents = 1/4 step, or half the pitch difference between two adjacent keys on the piano.)

Here's a clip, running in this order:
    1. At correct pitch
    2. Mosaic CD
    3. Rhino Jumpin' at Capitol CD
    4. At correct pitch again

I should not conflate speed- and pitch-related terms so casually. The Mosaic CD is about 60 cents sharp, which equates to about 5% too fast, and the Rhino is about double that.

"I'm Lost" has a similar pitch problem in the Mosaic set (along with well-known wowwowwowwowwow problems).

Pardon me if this is already known, but in comparing four versions of Solid Potato Salad, I see/hear that the version on that VJC disc is the same performance as on this set:

but with far superior sound on the VJC set.

Excellent, clear, rich, clean, tasteful mixes in hi-fi stereo sound on all four tracks. I'll get some clips posted in the next 24 hours or so.

Thanks Matt ... the arrangement to " I Must Be Dreaming " works so well with the choral group.

The cut-out notch most likely related to it being a promo copy at release. Most promo copies at that time were being issued to media reviewers (newspapers/magazines etc) rather than radio. In the CD era, cutouts that were "overstock" sold at dramatically reduced prices were not as prevalent as in the LP era. CD manufacturing quantities were better managed, and much of the industry decided to destroy overstock (when it occurred) rather than hurt sales of higher priced discs by offering customers a wide selection of reduced price cutouts
