    Well, I do declare!

(And thank you too, Dale; I'm just glad to be able to add something of interest to one of my favorite threads here.)

P.S. Dustin's beer-ful message above couldn't have been more timely, given this upcoming CD's bonus tracks:

    13. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 1- Takes 1-7,
    14. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 1 A Take 1.
    15. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 2- Takes 1-3,
    16. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 2a- Takes 1 & 2,
    17. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 3- Take 1,
    18. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 4- Takes 1-7,
    19. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 5- Takes 1-6,
    20. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 6- Take 1,
    21. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 7- Takes 1-5,
    22. Rheingold Beer Radio Commercial # 8- Takes 1-10.

If this disc is in the same league as its 1960 Concert predecessor, we are in for a real treat.

For literally the first time in my life, I have pre-ordered a disc, and the way I see it, if it's half as good as their other CD, it'll be way above average. Can't wait! (but I guess I will)

    A few initial thoughts:

    • I really wish I knew who was responsible for these VSR releases/recordings. My feeling is Lee Gillette.

    • The Vegas show looks to be far from a complete set. Not complaining at all, but I do wish that "Where Did Everyone Go" and " I Wont Twist," both of which were performed during that engagement, were included here.

    • Nat's engagement at the Sands was from 1/3 - 1/30.

    • Based on the Rheingold material that surfaced on COAST TO COAST, I suspect these will sound pretty good.

    • I *think*, based on the numerical sequence in the Capitol Manuscript Archive, that at least some of the Rheingold material is from on or around 2/4/58. That would put Gillette on the scene. Also makes sense that these would be done in NYC.

    • Lastly, it wasn't all that long ago that there was virtually no live Cole floating around. My how that has changed!

Mods: Can we give this release a dedicated thread? For the most part, we tend to lump everything in this one and things tend to get buried.

So this photo can accompany the new release.

Just idle speculation, but I wonder if Nat could be attempting the twist, since Jordan mentioned I Won't Twist.

JT, you are correct regarding how things have changed in such a short time. I now own :

    1. Live at the Circle Room 1946 - Capitol 1999
    2. The Complete California Concerts 1949 - Encore
    3. The Forgotten 1949 Carnegie Hall Concert - Hep
    4. Nat King Cole at the Sands 1960 - Capitol Jazz
    5. The Complete Lost Concert - Very Special Records

    6. Live In Zurich with Quincy Jones - TCB
    7. Coast To Coast Riverside Inn 1963 - Ovation
    8. Sarah Vaughan Memorial Album 1951 duet w/Nat King Cole

    Am I missing anything.

It's never been officially released, and it's been around for quite a few years, but there is also the Arie Crown (Chicago) concert from November 9, 1963.

Sorry about that. Usually it's the other way around for me.
